Meeting the client brief (U3: P5, M4, D1)
Learning Outcome 4 (U3): Be able to carry out
post-production techniques and processes for an original media product to a
client brief.
M4 (U3): Demonstrate how the exported media product meets the client brief
D1 (U3): Analyse how post- production
techniques and processes create meaning in the media product to meet the client
brief
I exported both my front cover and double page spread as JPEG images to suit the client brief
I used the tool drop shadow on photoshop as i believed it characterised the words and gave them more meaning and symbolises something bigger and bolder within the statement it is used in, when linking to the brief the drop shadow tool makes the writing more in context with the brief as it connects to vibrant music with the drop shadow as this tool makes the magazine more vibrant and stand out more, the tool helped create meaning as the tool of drop shadow gives the wording more depth visually and psychologically as the tool gives a different impression on the statement than if the statement had no tool used on it.

Another tool I used was stroke and that was used for the masthead as it made it more bold and stand out more, it links to the brief as the colour and tool both have connotations to vibrant music,as the stroke effect widens and enlarges the masthead to make it more suitable for the target audience and location of North London, the tool helped create meaning as the stroke effect broadened the emphasis the masthead has and relates it to its location of North London, the masthead's colour also links towards the chosen target audience which is girls aged 12-18 and with the tool that was used makes it stand out more towards the desired target audience.

Another tool I used was opacity, this is the quality of lacking transparency, I used to influence the background of the double page spread and to influence readers viewing and insight of what they think they are seeing, this links to the brief as the use of opacity means the the image of a North London area, the opacity also identifies that not everyone is who they seem to be as opacity shows what something is hiding and lets it show through, it has meaning as I have spread previously to open another side another view on something or someone, this links to North London as not everything is this location is simple as some things are complex and need a different angle to know and truly understand what something is which is exactly like music as there can be many interpretations on what a song could mean but only angle that shows the true meaning of the song is the writer of the song.

Another tool that I used was Inner shadow it was used to give the hashtag a more vibrant look and stand out more, it links to the brief as the colours used were vibrant and stand out, the colours used are similar colours but different shades which helps it become vibrant and stand out, the tool helped to create meaning by the way it represents the North London scene, as the community are similar but come from different backgrounds and experiences which links to the colours used from the tool which are of the same colour but different shades, as well as this the statement I used the inner shadow on links to the target audience as it uses hashtags which can be used for social media and with the target audience being aged between 12-18, it is good to have social media outlooks to progress the magazine further, which also links to the brief of having an online presence.

Front cover: (P5, M4, D1)
A tool I used for the front cover was drop shadow which I used on photoshop, I used it to give the the statement a bigger presence ad stand out more, it links to the brief because the colours used are bold and stand out which gives it its vibrance, the statement also links to the brief as the hashtag gives us an online presence, the hashtag is also useful in a multitude of ways such as linking to the target audience which are girls aged 12-18 this is because the hashtag comes from Love Island and a majority of the magazine's target audience will be watching Love Island this also means that wen the target audience sees the hashtag they will be able to relate to it and more likely to purchase the magazine, as well as this the majority of the target audience will be using social media and having a hashtag gives us a online presence and therefore be able to be seen and notice.
Another tool that was used was gradient overlay this was used to give some shine on the front cover of the magazine as the colour scheme that was chosen did not have any shine to properly catch they eye, the gradient overlay gives the statement a different dimension and the way it is represented gives it a vibrant outlook which exactly what the magazine needed and wanted, the tool created meaning as the shine and different colour scheme used for the statement makes it eye-catching, as well as that it gives the chance ti help out the community, as the location used which was North London the target audience will also be of low-income shaving interactive QR codes inside gives the chance to help and give some positivity to the community of North London as well as this the QR codes gives the magazine another source of being an online presence which links to the brief
Another tool that was used was colour overlay, it was used to give another dimension and outlook as well as make it sound out what the magazine was all about, it is linked to the brief by the colours used, it links to colours that overlay that gives it vibrancy, the tool created meaning the overlay gives it multiple of dimensions to the look at the specific word it covers which is 'pop', this is significant and there is links between pop and North London as within the genre of pop their is a differentiation of music and how it is presented which is how North London is represented with different cultures
Another tool that was used was stroke, this was used to great affect as it help stand out the most important thing about the article which was the masthead and the name of the 'future artist', this links to the brief as the colours used on both the name of the 'future artist' and masthead were both made more vibrant with the stroke effect, the stroke effect made it stand out more will making it bigger and broader and easier to catch the eye, it also links to the brief as the 'future talent' is what the magazine wanted as it wanted the magazine to be produced with exposing locally developing artists as well them being based around North London which it follows, the tool helped to create meaning as it the effect it created was the most crucial part of the front cover, the front cover need a masthead that was catchy and clever and easy to remember which is has, as well the name of the 'future talent' as that will help expose the young artist by the fact that it will stick in potential readers heads and give him some exposure, it also has meaning as the 'future talent' is North London grown and therefore is part of the community that this magazine is targeted at.
