Pop-ular music magazine has been lucky enough to catch an interview with new and up coming young talent John Samden, read below to find out more about this future pop artist
What is your name?
John Samden
Is music your biggest passion?
Yes, music has always played a big part in my life, it has helped me through a difficult childhood and teenage years. Music is the best way for me to release my feelings and true emotions, that is why it is my biggest passion
Who is your idol?
Steve Goulding, it is a name not many have heard of as he is of a different time, he was a North London pop artist, however I also loved listening to his music, it gave me inspiration and helped me think positively, honestly without his music I don't know where i would be right now.
Have you released or about to release a new album?
Yes, I am about to release my first album, which is available on apple music, spotify and on CD. It felt so good to finally be able to finish my album, it took me a lot of hard work and dedication. I literally put my blood, sweat and tears into creating this album and really how fans can enjoy my music and be able to share the experience.
Is anyone in your family musically talented?
My mum was a guitarist for a while, not professional just for fun and belittle sister is just starting ballet and wants to learn the guitar as well once she is old enough.
Why did you decided to follow music as a career?
Music has always been a calling for me, I didn't feel wanted at any other career, that is how I felt and with the tough growing up i had music was the one thing I could count on, making music gave me a purpose and a will to carry on and enjoy life, music is the one thing i believe I will be able to achieve in life.
At what age did you really start following music?
I must have been 8 or 9 when listening to music that my parents loved and I ended up loving that music as well, the music helped me express myself when I was younger and moved me towards other genres of music and following different genres which I have all fell in love with.
Is there any artists you would like to duet with?
I'm not sure, there is so many talented artists with different talents working in different genres and even the artists working in the same genre as I am take a different approach to the way they present their music but if i had to choose one it would be my idol Steve Goulding.
If you could live as another artist who would it be and why?
That is a very difficult question, however I would not want to live as another artist as I could not even imagine living as someone else and having completely different experiences whilst growing up which would have completely different affects on how I would grow up and be as a person.
Setting up templates

For this I went into photoshop and created an A4 portrait template this is because I needed to do so for my front cover

For this I went into photoshop and created an A3 portrait template this is because I needed to do so for my double page spread

For this all I did was rotate my A3 template for my double page spread and made it landscape as that makes it able to be a double page spread

I saved it in my specific documents and as a PSD so that I can edit it over any platform or user

Chosen Photos
I chose this photo as I believe it stands out more with the way the model is presented and the way the model is positioned, it made the photo suitable for any position necessary which improved the photo a huge amount. I chose this as I needed a blank background so that I could edit it in photoshop. I also feel the facial expression links with my genre and the model has good eye contact.
ASSET LIST:

M3: Codes & Conventions
costume- I had my model have two different costumes, in the first photo he had a nice coloured shirt that was suitable for surrounding atmosphere I believed that the costume the model presented him differently amongst other artists, the second photo was a little different with my model having a jumper on making him look more professional and more suitable for what the photo was needed for
location- the location I used was the park, it was in the morning meaning that the lighting from the sun gave it a better look and angle and with the subtle wind gave it a different aura that was presented by the model, the second photo was however taken in front of a wall as it was going to be manipulated by photoshop
facial expression/body lang- In the first photo presented by a tree the model is free-flowing and comfortable, this is shown by his arm gestures spread out, the model is also noticeably comfortable by the fact that the model shirt is untucked, in the second photo the is presented in front of a wall the model is a bit more serious as shown by the model's facial expressions however there is a slight smirk which changes the photo's actions, as well as this the body language is similar in the ways the first photo with arms spread apart.
body copy- I wrote the article for my body copy based solely around the artist in question and how and why he wanted to become a pop artists, I wanted more than just looks and a good voice to be a reason why the passion of pop music possessed the future artist and show that everyone is different and learn and lives differently as well which is why I presented the body copy as it was.

I chose this photo as I believe the mixture of the model and the location it was chosen mixed together made the photo stand out more and with the lighting model-shoot not being thefts this is the best photo I could have asked for at the moment of time
