Evaluate The Response (D1,U21)

Learning Outcome 3 (U21):  Be able to pitch ideas on a proposed media product and respond to questions

Feedback that was helpful:

I received feedback on the location surrounding my magazine, this feedback was extremely useful as it helped me identify what changes are needed so that I would be able to follow the criteria of the brief, as the criteria from the brief was to make the magazine solely around North London, if I did not receive this feedback then my magazine area would have been too broad and would not have followed the brief, so by gaining this feedback I was able to narrow my magazine area to match the client brief which was to based around North London. The changes which will be implemented as it will help with identifying where the magazine is from and the area it is aimed at is by including discounts to local venues as well as publicising in magazine events, this will furthermore show that the magazine will be based around North London and follow the client brief.

I received feedback on my target audience, this is  feedback I agree was also necessary to receive and will improve how the magazine goes forward successfully, the problem which I was told from be feedback was that my target audience was too broad, this is a problem as I will be trying to make all sections of the target audience engaged with the magazine, however with the different fonts, colours and images, it is difficult to be successful with a large target audience, by following the feedback I will be narrowing my target audience, this will help in deciding fonts, colours and images, as it will be simpler to decide what is necessary to please the potential target audience.

I also received feedback about my fonts, this feedback was especially interesting for me as I believed that the fonts I chose were great choices, however hearing the feedback, I agree with the feedback and the changes that are needed and appropriate for this type of magazine. The masthead I was told needed changing as it was too retro, which I agreed with, the font was Kelvinized, however the feedback I was given said I should change it with another one of my font choices which was Chunk Five, as they believed that this font was stronger than my original font, they also believed that Chunk Five is too western and could have the possibility of needing to be changed. I will also be changing fragment core as my body copy font to ARIAL as from my research it is the font style used the most and is much more legible.

I also received feedback regarding my front cover, the feedback said that the front cover was not busy enough, from this it is telling me that I need to improved on the amount written and shown on the front page, this is also including colours, outlines and angles, as well as this it also includes the font which will be decided on, as the front cover will need to stand out.

Another piece of feedback was my colour scheme, i was informed about how the colour scheme can impact the target audience, as the colour affects how the magazine is viewed and how it is seen to be for what specific target audience, this will be thought about with the target audience as the target audience and colour scheme will interact with each other and will decide the best outcome for what the target audience and colour scheme is.

My final piece of feedback that I will be changing is my double page spread, I was told that my pages needs to be spread more with images and words, I will need to make changes as I need to meet the criteria,  by changing my double page spread and taking advice from the feedback I will be filling up the double page spread with imagery and wording, which will need to cover the entire double page spread.

Feedback that was not helpful

The only piece of feedback that was not useful but was positive was that they did like my font for my body copy, this is good as this means that I am able to identify myself what would work well for the magazine and shows I am able to work on the magazine to make it as good as possible.
